i just bought a set of brazilian carbs from a guy at a swap meet telling me he talked to cb perf about the rebuild kits just to find out when i got home that the folks at cb say they havent made the rebuild kits in a while. DRATS i say! I dont have the money or the skill to baby a fuel injection that has been setting up for like 5 or 6 years...just doesnt seem worth it. So now I find myself looking for a set of dual carbs. Prefferably 34, 36 up to 40 if the price is right. I guess webers CURRENT carbs are easy to find parts for and maybe even Dellorta's would be good. If any one knows of any that are in rebuildable shape with the manifolds and linkage, and that the kits are made readilky available..please drop me a line..I posted a wanted ad in the type iv stuff for sale but postyed here too in case some dont read that one.
thanks

Say Derf, I know a guy with a set of 36 Dells with an asking price of $350. I think these would be very suitable for the bus, however 34(baby) Dells are also real good on a stock bus.
I know everyone will tell you different but I`ve had good luck with a single Weber progressive an a 2.0L bus.
A couple of years ago I was in the same position as you. I had just aquired a 78 van . The previous owner had spent a lot of money on the fuel injection and had given up. When I got it the f.i. came off and I ordered a new Weber setup. Pit in on in a few hours and the beast started up and ran smoothly from then on. I kept the vacumn advance distributor and that was part of the reason I think. Also the carbis different for the bus than for type 1 or 3. I must admit to not having good experiences with the progressive setup on type ones though. I think the jetting is much better on the type 2 carb.
How did you like the Offroad Busses?
Email me if youre interested in the Dells. He lives in Florida but I`ll put you in touch with him.

Hey I guess I'm not the only one to fall for the dual webers. I also bought a set of brazilian dfv228 for $200. I was told they were ict's. I'm kicking myself but ohwell I should have known. Mine are in good condition and I'll sell mine for $50.00 if you want them for parts, they have half the linkage (just missing the centre push pull lever), and manifolds on them.
