Also purchased a 69 camper, i am giving the engine to my dad and selling the trans to a friend, the body will be for sale shortly thereafter. any who are interested give me a yell!! It has good canvas in the camper (need a little stitching) good brakes and interior is good but also needs to have a few leaks fixed in window seal areas!

Derf, it`s a pretty straight ahead swap to replace your F.I. with carbs. Just take your time and work through it step by step.
Start by removing the brain box and you`,ll find a natural progression of the harness coming away from it. Be careful not to disconnect your alternator from its external regulator on the firewall.
Once you have all the electrical away, begin on the fuel lines. Start at the tank and run a fuel line to the engine compartment. Mount the elect pump on the left firewall with a filter before it and your regulator after. Ground the pump on its mount and run a wire from the hot(ign.) side of the coil so that it receives voltage as the key is turned on.
The F.I. uses a full loop fuel system to maintain constant pressure throughout the system so you will now have a fuel line returning to the tank that is no longer needed. You can block it off at the right side of the firewall where it returns to the tank. Use good gaskets. Dump the old gas when you change the lines. You can use it to clean parts or something but do`nt take chances by trying to start your engine with it.You`ll undoubtibly be having more questions as you go. Hope this will get you started. I`m waiting for that post that says you`re on the road and grinnin. Good Luck. Bob

I put DRLA 36's on the 2 liter '79 engine in my '73 Adventurer. They work like a charm.

Be sure to report on the changes you experience going from FI to dual carbs in a stock engine. I'd love to hear about it: power (obviously), economy and driveablity. Would love to know as I'm thinking of the same thing. Also, did you go to an 009, or did you find a way to hook up the Vac advance in your stock (and better) dizzy?
