does anyone know of any ways to fix the birds nest under my dash?
it looks like someone ate a bunch of wires then threw up under my dash.
I guess I could start duct taping everything, or tying stuff with straps or something, but is there an easier way?
Also how come I cant find a fuse box for a '73 bus? All I can find is the cover.

hmmm... '73s must of come from the factory like that because mine is a mess too, I think I'm going to take the dash completely out some day and re-route, and use spiral wrap and zip ties to clean up the wireing under there.

Not sure how you feel about ebay but here's a '73 fusebox, pretty good deal. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/e ... =598557964

yeah it never really looked like any of the wires were fixed any way. I might just do the zip tie thing too.
nice find on ebay, but I'm not to confident in it just yet.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR RIDE TAKE A LITTLE TIME AND START EXCHANGING THE CABLES ONE BY ONE .IT WILL TAKE TIME BUT IT WILL BE WORTH THE EFFORT.ALWAYS DISCONECT THE -(NEG/GROUND CABLE FROM THE BATTERY).YOU WILL BY THE WAY LEARN SOME THINGS AT THE SAME TIME AND WILL UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM MORE .IF YOU USE COLOR CODED CABLES BE SHURE TO TAKE NOTES ON THE COLOR AND WHERE THEY ARE HOOK UP.YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE THE DASH(GAUGES,GLOVE COMPARTMENT ,KICK PANELS AND FALLOW THE CABLES.TO RUN A HARD TO REACH CABLE SUCH AS THE IONTERIOR LIGHTS USE THE OLD ONE AS A PULLER/GUIDE.JUST TAPE THE NEW ONE ON THE OLD ONE AND PULL UNTIL IT GETS TO THE PLACE YOU WANT TO.USE GOOD CONNECTORS AND SHRINK TUBBING FOR A GOOD LOOK(ELECTRC TAPE WILL WORK FINE TO ).TAKE CARE AND WATCH FOR MICE.WHEN I BOUGHT MY 1978 BUS IS WAS LAYING ON A HOUSE AS A DOG HOUSE FOR 4 YEARS AND WHAT THE DOG DIDN'T ATE THE MICES DID.I COMPLETLY REWIRED IT AND IS WORKING LIKE A BABY.GOOD LUCK;DANNY

Hey goatski,
I have a fuse box for a '73 bus (and some other stuff). Has the fuses, 3 relays on it (don't know exactly what's what with those). The stock wires are cut about 2" from the terminals.
If you're interested, send me an email.

$10 + ship. It's just collecting dust in the garage.

thanks for the offer, but my original reason for the question is mine is cracked, and what if I wanted a brand new one? there is no place to get them, so maybe I will find one later when it comes closer to needing one.
tonight, I layed on my back on the floor of the front cab (yes it was very tight, nothing like a brake pedal in your back) and I looked up under my dash. Its possible to seperate cables, but its just gonna take a bit of time.
