pop-top
Greetings. Looking for info on how to restore the top on the 78 Westy. The fiberglass is in good shape. It does have a " fuzz ". How would I bring this back into decent shape. Resin overcoat? Sand and paint? Just paint? What type? Brush equates spray to me. Appreciate your input. Thanks, Regis

Try www.poptops.com. It's mostly about installing new seals, but it does have some info on cleaning the poptop.

the boating world found an answer in a two part poly paint that is used to make fiberglass boats look new again. i am planning on doing this to may sailboats and the top of my son's 73 poptop. a good book for this is THIS OLD BOAT by don casey. i even bought it online. it outlines the procedures for repainting your old fiberglass boat (pop top) and the results are spectacular.
stop in at a marine supply store and ask. afterall fiberglass is fiberglass.
ps it may run a few bucks, but the alternative is to have it delaminate!
just my 2 cents worth
