Some of you may not be aware of this - Amsoil has synthetic 10/40 and 20/50 for motorcycles which contain zinc and phosphorous additives for anti-scuff, anti-wear. They are very much the same ratings as diesel oils in the wear/scuff and heat absorption areas, and offer superior film strength, temperature resistance, and elongated change intervals. You may recall that zinc and phosphorous were removed from most motor oils (exception: racing oils) because they contributed to undesireable exhaust emissions.
Amsoil also makes oil filters equal or slightly superior to Mobil 1 filters, and their synthetic transaxle oils are a lot better than the usual GL-4 or GL-5 petroleum based lubes.

John at aircooled.net (our sponsor) is an Amsoil dealer. He swears by the transaxle oil. He won't sell the motor oil. I don't know if he has ever gone into detail about the motor oil, but he won't sell anything he doesn't believe in.
I'm either going to change to Amsoil or Redline transaxle oil. I'm sticking with dino oil in the crankcase for now, I change it so often I can't afford synth.
