Hey Brendan

Thanks for the kind words, If you?ve seen the car this spring you might have noticed the damage to the right rear quarter (thanks to a Dodge pickup  ), the car was suppose to go into my shop for the repair, new top and repaint, but since I haven?t quite finished my paint booth yet (to many hobbies and projects), I just banged it out for now so the wife could have her car back for summer. Along with the other work I?m hoping to add some dropped spindles and 5 lug smoothies.

Maybe we could talk VW's sometime, send me an email if ya like: bigfoot_man@hotmail.com

Man that looks great! Your going to change the rims? It would cost a bit of $ but I think some BRMS or some black 5 spoke Empi" would look killer, you know they dont have all that crome. Just an idea, looks awsome. 8)

Since I’m hangin around the forum again I figured I bump this up from the long past and give a little update.

The car is still alive and reasonably well, got about 35,000 more miles on it and its due for a repaint and new top, which I’m hoping to do this spring. I still haven’t changed the wheels or found a good rear window to install, not that I’ve look to hard for the window, we almost always drive it with the top down so who cares. :P A couple of years back a guy in a truck caved in the right rear quarter and fender, not to bad tho. I did all the hammer and dolly work and spot painted it so that’s on the list to finish too. The mild 1835cc I had in it developed a crack from a head stud across the oil gallery so it running a stock 1600 DP right now. Features include: 2” chop top, smoothed/dechromed, ’73 Pan, front disks, one piece door glass, frameless side windows, custom dash with matching right side speaker grill, W lid with pull cable release, 56 Chevy taillights, relocated air intake under the back fenders, lowered rear bumper. I’d be happy to give more detail if anybody is interested.
