Have a 70 ghia & cannot for the life of me get the front seats out! I thought they were like a bug where you pull the lever & push from the back, but the stupid things won't budge ! Both retaining levers are moving under the seat, & yes the floor is VERY rusty!(thats why I wanna pull the seats out) Any Ideas????
just did this yesterday, you have to remove a safety spring that is a pain in the ass to get out, once you get this pull the adjustment lever and slide forward and it should slide off the tracks.
You may need two people. One will have to hold the adjusting lever in and push down on or in on a track lock tab in the outside seat rail. While that's being done by the first person the other person, gets in back and pushes the seat forward and out of the track. Oh! There is a spring under the seat that connects to the rail that needs to be detached first. That's how it was done on my 74. Not sure if the 70 seat is that was. Check the outside seat rail for that tab if it only goes so far forward and then stops and won't budge. Hope this helps.
