I'm looking into getting a bus but was having a hard time finding a parts source. Where should I look for quality parts from a-z?
Also, I have a swing flyer tranny from KCR that is in my 66 beetle. Can I put this in a swing bus?

in general the best sources for bus parts are Wolfsburg west and or bus boys. Bus boys deals with alot of trick and custom stuff. CIp also has a very good selection. all these places have websites as well.

Here are some of my favorite parts vendors. I prefer Bus Depot for most of my stuff since I am on the east coast. These guys all offer good parts and service though.
Bus Depot - http://www.busdepot.com
AirCooled.Net - http://www.aircooled.net
Rocky Mountain Motor Works - http://www.motorworks.com
Busted Bus - http://www.bustedbus.com
California Import Parts - http://www.cip1.com
Old Volks Home of AZ - http://www.type2parts.com
Good Luck!

no you can't use that tranny in a bus. You need to use the "long axle" tranny and by using a bug tranny you would need to lower your bus. I think 68 is the only bug tranny that will swap beside the type3 long axles. what year/model is your bus?

The main reason you can't use that tranny w/ the stock reduction boxes is because you would have 4 REVERSE gears and 1 FWD gear!! You could have a compitent tranny builder flop the R&P and still be able to use that tranny in your bus. It's a thought. . . Otherwise you will need to do what Rick said. Good Luck!!

I don't have a bus yet. I'm in the process of putting my bug back together and then I'll look into it.
I just don't want to rush into it like I did with my bug. I got a really nice car but I could have done better. So, with what I know now I can pick out a really nice bus and actually know what I'm getting into.
I actually was just in LA and saw quite a few nice bus' for sale.
