suspension

hey everyone
im planning on swapping a more powerful engine(subaru or mazda rotary) into a ghia. this will be a street car not a drag car. im thinking about doing a widebody or flared fenders to accomodate wider tires
two questions:
1. what suspension set ups are people using?
2. im reading a lot about high speed problems with ghias. i dont mind losing the back seats. should i consider a mid mounted engine? anyone have info on this?
