Any special procedures or tricks in order to align my 70 Ghia convertible's doors?

I heard of trick to place tape along the edge of your doors and door frames to prevent any chipping while placing the doors.
When I did mine I had an assistant hold the door while I snugged the bolts on the hinges. Then it is a matter of gently push, pull, up, down until it looks good. Open to adjust and close the door to check.
Be careful of the adhesive strength on the tape because a strong adhesive could pull the paint on a Painted Metal Edge. I place the tape on my clothing and then pull it off to lessen the ahesive strength before using the tape on a painted surface.

Take Care,

The doors can be inpossible to adjust if back of ghia body is on incorrect height. Door - to - body distance become too wide.

The back of the body rests on the rear suspension damper tower. The rubber mounting wears out and body hangs a bit in the back. New rubber mounts can be bought in different thicknesses.
