Has anyone tried to use the "pillar mounted" gauge clusters in a Ghia?

Just curious

I haven't seen anyone try it... The A-pillars are pretty slim...and the gauge pods ( the ones I'm familiar with anyways - Golf/Jetta ) are too wide.

But that never stopped someone who was both determined and creative... I know someone who works with fiberglass / carbon fiber that could possibly work out a solution for this kind of thing.

I used to shape surfboards, so fibreglass work is no problem for me. I think the idea is pretty slick and should work on a Ghia. The A Pillars are pretty slim, but if the pods are kept close to the dash, and using the smaller gauges(ie: 2.25" ones) it should look pretty cool, and no need to hack up the dash some more :)

I'll look into it. Now, I wonder how many people would be interested in them in fibreglass. I'm sure Carbon Joe could make them out of Carbon.

It's a tight fit, but I'm wokring on something now.... I figure a two gauge pod would be ok, most people aren't running more than that extra(I think, since my Tach will be mounted on the dash)
