Bosch 019 Screamer Kit

Post by Glenn »

I recently acquired a vintage Bosch Screamer Kit. It came with the box and Blue 019 distributor. I just purchased the missing 6v Bosch Blue Coil to help complete it.

There's a 3rd compartment in the package and i'm wondering what goes in it. It's 3/4" wide and 1.5" long and had cellophane tape over it. It's in the upper left of the picture.

Anyone know what goes there?

The distributor already has the points, condensor and rotor already installed. I doubt they'd give you any spares.

Yeah I am betting it was a ballast resistor.

A small tube of grease for the points.

My vote is for a resistor. I believe that some of those kits came with the red coil which (so I've heard) uses an external resistor.

I have one of those 019 distributers. I rebuilt it using an NOS rebuild kit that I found. I could not find blue paint that looked correct so I repainted it black.

I found the correct coil and it seems a wire boot goes in the 3rd opening. Here's the complete kit.
