New Axle Shafts for Gear Reduction

Post by spongeworthy »

Hey everyone:

Are new axle shfts available from anyone for early Bus transaxles? I am talking about the ones coming out of the transmission itself, not the gear reduction stub axles.

I emailed Sway-A-Way several weeks ago about this, but they never bothered to respond.

No new axles that I am aware of. Finding good used ones is the best you can do. Long transaxle reworks them if they aren't too beat up from the fulcrum plates. It would be nice if sway away would make them.

My axles are trashed. The fulcrum plates are damaged on the inner and outer parts. Something was going very wrong long before first gear blew out inside the transmission.

I have been considering converting my Baja to IRS but I have not decided for sure yet. :?
