Tell it to someone who cares old man, I already had this conversation with you. Maybe you should post to the several clubs that use Volksfest, VWfest, BugIn, BugOut, BugJam, so on... Hell your club... "Volksfolks" theres PLENTY of clubs with that name... who had it first? probably not you, maybe you should consider changing it. Not too mention our show is spelled bug-a-PALOOZA...Why? Because we got the idea from the music tour LollaPALOOZA... not you, thats why its spelled correctly. Its just a VW show and were 3 states away from you, get off your high horse.

Yeah, the Volksfolks have really ripped some people off in the past.
I guess this is the same, coming back around.
The Volksfolks peeps in Chattanoga are notorious for taking the work of someone, and then steeling it for their own, and then acting like they never heard of them.
What goes around, comes around.

First, let me start out by saying that your show looks like it is going to be pretty cool. Low admission prices and activities draw the people in. If I wasn't three states away, I would probably show up.
As far as the Bugapalooza vs. Bugapalüza thing, yes, we got it from the music tour as well, but spell it with a ü to give it a European feel. Of course, I'm sure we weren't the first to use it, nor will we be the last. I don't have to tell you that you can call your show whatever you want to. You can.
The same with VolksFolks. Shortly after we decided to name our club that, I found a club in Texas, for example, with the VolksFolks name as well. Does that mean we stole it from them or someone else? And if a new club names theirs Volks Folks, are they stealing from us? Surely not. Just like you didn't "steal" your show's name from us.
I have to say that this rift may be my fault. I put a post on our forums pointing to your show and saying that "the name is catchy". I apologize if my post started something. I didn't have evil intentions. I don't see a reason for things to get out of hand...we are all VW lovers here.
JerryG: I've been a member of this club since it started in 1997, and I was president of the club for 1 year...I think it was during BP3 (2000-2001). Did this "stealing" take place during my term as president? I hope not. I would like to be informed of what you say went on, because I can honestly say that I can't think of what you are referring to. If you want to email me, send it to gobusgo69 at hotmaildotcom. Or just post here...back up your claim.
Anyway, I hope your show is a success.

Ahhh, a reasonable voice. Thanks for coming at this with maturity Travis. We had no intentions of offending anyone or stealing anything. Were just a young club with some grit and were stickin to our guns
I apreciate your understanding reply to all of this

I have also been a member since the begining of our club. In fact, I helped organize our first meeting. I served as club treasurer the first two years, then as president the year before Travis, and as vice-president during Travis' term. Since then I've been the show committee chairman for Bug-A-Paluza. I also have never heard anything about one case of us "taking the work of someone, and then steeling it for their own, and then acting like they never heard of them" . . . much less being "notorious" for it. Please tell us more
And as far as the "old man" being on his "high horse," . . . I'll be the second to admit (He'd be the first) that "VWHerb" doesn't use a lot of "tact" at times. He's going to speak up and say exactly what's on his mind. Maybe it has something to do with having 3 helicopters shot out from under him in southeast Asia and serving a quarter century working undercover trying to keep low life, car stealing scum off the streets . . . maybe it's because he's survived heart surgery and cancer. Who knows why? But, how many of the rest of us would take a complete stranger from 6 states away into our homes and keep them up for two days while we were trying to fix their broken down '66 bus (at no charge by the way) so they could get back home? How many of us drop what we are doing and drive 2 hours away to tow someone home when they blow an engine in their VW, then not even let you buy him a tank of gas? I know of literaly hundreds of other examples where he has went to someone else's rescue at his own expense. Yeah, he's gonn'a tell you how he feels, and it ain't gonn'a be sugar coated . . . but when I'm in trouble, I can't think of ANYONE I'd rather have in my corner!
