914-4 motor and transaxle drawings or pics

Post by Volksrod »

I am in the process of designing a car around a 914-4 motor and transaxle. Is there anybody out there that can help me find a line drawing of this combo. from the side and top view? I will eventually be putting it in an AutoCad dwg format but a simple line drawing will get me headed in the right direction. The drawing could even be a cut-a-way drawing. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Walt

There's a 914-6 blueprint drawing available on Pelican. There is a vague outline of the 6-cylinder motor and transmission shown in some of the views. That may be enough to help, I hope....

Would make a nice transplant to a tube chassis Porsche 550 Spyder replica! I keep eying up the Subaru engine for my '57 Speedster replica. Ah heat and AC plus a turbo and fuel injection and not 3k valve adjustments.

Dave,

Thanks for the Pelican Parts link! I used it to find the 914-4 engine diagrams and part lists I've been searching for. These will help a great deal on my upcoming rebuild project.

Here's a little sneak preview of the project.

Here's some pics with measurements of a T4 I took for General Lee jr. (he was interested in the exhaust dimensions).

Hope it helps.

tubr frame drawings

Post by aussie 914 »

Hi

Can anyone supply, or know where I can get a set of drawings or plans to build a tube frame to use porsche 914 suspension and engine/gearbox.

I have seen a 550 replicas running this setup, and i have the mechanical bits out of a crashed 914 which I would to build a weekend race car with.

I have a few designs that may be of interest to you...
check out http://www.specificmotors.com

I build tubular engine cradles for V8 / porsche trans
( or audi trans )...

I can certainly adapt things to use a vw engine / 914 trans.

Let me know how I can help.
