Howdy all! Here is a picture of my first car. When I turned 16 my parents said if I got a job they would get me a car...well I got a job flipping burgers and they got me this bug. Little did I know how much I would fall in love with this little thing. It's now 22 years later and I still have it. It looks a lot better and has more power but I don't drive it as much as I used to but still love it just as much. I could spend thousands more on it if the wife would let me (who has not been in the picture as long as my car) but I'm just happy to still have it and that she let me spend the money I have on it so far....notice the "so far"...I can't fight the power of the bug. It wants more money dumped into it.
The first picture is a couple years after I got it. (it looked a lot better then) A bad winter caused the fender damage and a bad idea caused the whale tail.
Anyway, glad to find this forum and glad to be among some buggers...time I get back into my volks and enjoy it.

Today.....(well I have had all the chrome (except the wheels) powder coated black just no current picture....I will keep updating as I work on it.....
next stop.....wheel burning power if the wife will allow. May take a couple years
